Landscapes of beauty,
fragility & resilience

Jen Foxton is a Highfields-based artist whose practice features semi-abstract landscapes on canvas in oil, acrylic and mixed media. Her works are inspired by a bush upbringing and a deep reverence for Mother Nature.

Jen is particularly motivated by experimenting with different ways of applying paint, scraping it back and discovering the unexpected. Her connection with the Australian environment inspires her work, but she now feels it as a deep sense of loss when she witnesses environmental decline.

Her work examines the beauty, fragility and resilience of the Australian environment — a landscape so frequently shaped by drought, fire and floods.
